I’m really not sure how we’re already into July, but we’ve had a fun and BUSY summer! We’ve had graduation, parties, lake trips (in multiple states!), baseball games, and a lot of other things I know I’m forgetting about…
For me, I always feel like summer “officially” starts when we go to a baseball game, so that came early this year! We went to the Rangers game at the beginning of May and then went to a RoughRiders game a week later.
Sarah’s graduation festivities fell on Memorial Day, so we enjoyed the long weekend celebrating in Dallas and at the lake. The weekend kicked off with “The Great Gradsby” party to celebrate fourteen sweet graduates!
Throughout the weekend we celebrated with great food (thank you, Saint Ann) and a trip to the George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum. The Portraits of Courage exhibit at the museum is incredible – would highly recommend taking a trip if you’re in Dallas! The graduation ceremony on Saturday night was so special, too! John Quiñones gave the commencement address and the chapel on campus made for a beautiful (and REALLY hot) evening. As soon as the festivities ended, we grabbed a quick dinner and headed out to the lake to relax for Memorial Day.
June brought more weekend trips to the lake and a long weekend in Knoxville! We had been trying to plan a trip back to Tennessee and when we got word of the inaugural #TNTrailerTrashBash2k17, we knew we had to be there. We flew in late on Friday night and joined in on the party Saturday afternoon! I really had no idea what to expect for the party, but we had so.much.fun!!! It was so, so great to see family and friends we hadn’t seen since our wedding.
Of course, we took advantage of the photo booth – I’m sure you’ll be seeing this in your mailbox during the holidays! It was such a great weekend with this fun group… thanks to the best hosts for an awesome party and, like always, the best hospitality all weekend!
We must have taken a trailer park nod from the party, because we celebrated the 4th of July with an inflatable pool on the dock back in Texas! No better way to beat the heat, honestly… We loved having half of the New Jersey family with us in Dallas, too. This summer has been full of family and I’m loving it!!!
It’s been a crazy couple of months AND we’re getting ready to move at the end of this month (yikes)… I’ll be sure to share updates about our new apartment because decorating and organizing is always fun 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your summer as much as we are!
